This policy explains how Stitch Technology Limited (NZBN 9429047391192), Ground Floor, 295 Parnell Road, Parnell, Auckland 1052, New Zealand ("Stitch", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit stitchtech.co or get in touch with us. We handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
- Details you give us: your name, company, email address, phone number (optional) and message when you use our Connect form, the recommender follow-up form or our public AI tools interface.
- What you type into the recommender: the description of your challenge, used to generate service recommendations. Please don't include personal or confidential information.
- How you use the site: pages viewed, referring site, device and browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and a cookie identifier. We collect this through Customer.io tracking and our hosting provider's site analytics.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and follow up about our services.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
- When you submit a form, we link your earlier browsing on stitchtech.co to the details you give us, so we understand what you're interested in. We may then contact you about relevant Stitch services. You can opt out at any time by replying to any email or contacting info@stitchtech.co.
- To protect the site from spam and abuse. We keep a one-way hashed version of your IP address for up to two days to apply rate limits.
AI processing
The recommender sends the challenge text you enter to an AI model (provided by OpenAI, accessed through Lovable's AI gateway) to generate recommendations. The output is a starting point, not advice. We don't use what you enter to train AI models.
Cookies
We use cookies set by Customer.io to recognise returning visitors and measure site use. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
Who we share it with
We don't sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site and our business, under appropriate confidentiality and data protection terms:
- Customer.io (customer data and messaging)
- Google Workspace (email)
- Lovable and Cloudflare (website hosting, database and AI gateway)
- OpenAI (AI recommendations, recommender text only)
- Google Fonts (font delivery, which receives your IP address)
Some of these providers store or process information outside New Zealand, including in the United States. We only use providers we believe protect personal information in a way comparable to the Privacy Act.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and contact details for as long as needed to respond and maintain our business relationship, and delete or anonymise them when no longer needed. Rate-limiting records are deleted after two days.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections, restricted access and reputable service providers.
Your rights
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. Email info@stitchtech.co and we'll respond within 20 working days.
Complaints
If you have a concern, contact us first at info@stitchtech.co. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
